In the frame-work of the present volume, which has Paris firmly centre stage and, crucially, present even when it is ostensibly absent, this appears a surprisingly literal comment to make about Baudelaire’s final work. Certainly, Gouvard immediately goes some way to softening his opening gambit. He refers to other readers, for whom the prose poems are by turns ‘exotic in character’ (set on far-flung desert islands or in fairy-tale fantasy lands) or positioned non-specifically but recognizably ‘beyond the city walls’, in the faubourgs, areas that have since been integrated into Paris intra-muros and whose present-day equivalents are the suburban spaces of la banlieue. And yet, other references throughout the prose poems are undeniably to Paris itself.]]> Tue 06 Sep 2022 09:17:23 AEST ]]> Public mission as strategy for future Australian local government communication https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:41350 Tue 02 Aug 2022 14:10:20 AEST ]]> 'I want to read it in my hands': the aesthetic attraction of independent women's magazines https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36522 Thu 27 May 2021 14:56:03 AEST ]]> Up in the air with VR360 https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:35322 Thu 18 Jul 2019 16:41:18 AEST ]]> Music for good: reflections on a community music project through the lens of historical nostalgia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40295 Thu 14 Jul 2022 14:31:53 AEST ]]> Taking creativity seriously: developing as a researcher and teacher of songwriting https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:44080 Thu 06 Oct 2022 14:52:38 AEDT ]]> Visiosonics — developing moving images in direct response to sound — improvising with technology https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:31578 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:45:00 AEDT ]]> Neo-conned: the Murdoch press and the Iraq War https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:11373 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:11:56 AEDT ]]> The 'creative treatment of actuality': rationalizing and reconceptualizing the notion of creativity for documentary practice https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:11489 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:10:24 AEDT ]]> Continuous innovation in a complex and dynamic environment: the case of the Australian health service https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:10781 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:07:07 AEDT ]]> Conspectus interruptus: Dirty Harry and the trouble in the Fillmore district https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:16067 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:03:44 AEDT ]]> Visual narratives performing and transforming people living with autoimmune illness: a pilot case study https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:18544 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:50:17 AEDT ]]> Tangential visibility: becoming self through creating socio-cultural portraits https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:5172 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:47:43 AEDT ]]> Hospitable urban spaces and diversity https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28814 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:38:26 AEDT ]]> Re-stitching and strengthening community: three global examples of how doll-making translates into well-being in Indigenous cultures https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29114 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:36:55 AEDT ]]> Crisis in the digital visual effects industry and Hollywood cinema https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28718 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:35:39 AEDT ]]> Sam Spade: anatomy of a private investigator https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:25586 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:35:15 AEDT ]]> Noirscapes: using the screen to rewrite Los Angeles noir as urban historiography https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29022 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:31:08 AEDT ]]> Making global audiences for a Hollywood 'blockbuster' feature film: marketability, playability and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28521 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:29:19 AEDT ]]> Mavis Seidlitz: partner in crime and metonym for crime fiction partnership https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28533 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:28:43 AEDT ]]> Rereading investigation and re-presenting private investigators https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28532 Why Crime Fiction Matters in Melbourne in 2014 Stephen Knight reflected on the trajectory of scholarship in the field, which has gradually moved away from the broad-brush-stroke surveys of the genre towards more theoretically sophisticated studies and, more generally, a higher level of academic engagement to mirror crime's location in the literary marketplace.
